Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, is known for her impeccable style and huge collection of jewellery. While pearls have always been a huge part of Kate’s jewellery collection, she has worn them more often recently, especially in her virtual zoom calls.
Kate will often add pearls to spruce up a casual look or she will wear them for more formal events.
Recently, the royal has been wearing a specific pair of drop pearl earrings..
The pair are from designer Annoushka and although she has worn them previously, they’ve been a staple for the Duchess over the past few months.
The 18ct Gold Brown Diamond Baroque Pearl Earrings retail for a whopping £890 and she first debuted them for the first official photos with Prince George but has also worn them more casually with jeans too.
“Pearl production is incredibly complex and it takes years and years to get it right.
“Even then, not every pearl comes out the same and they must be carefully sorted and selected by hand.
“Real pearl jewellery is additionally set in silver or gold or strung in silk, which requires a highly skilled jewellery craftsperson.
“In other words, a lot of time, labour and love is needed before a beautiful pearl jewellery piece gets from a pearl bed to a jewellery store.”
Someone else who loves pearls is Vice President of the US, Kamala Harris.
One of her most special pieces was her Inauguration pearl necklace which was custom made by Wilfredo Rosado.
Wilfredo Rosado said: “Making history…We are honoured that Vice President Kamala Harris wore W.Rosado for the momentous occasion of her inauguration as the first female Vice President of the United States.”
The Pearl Haute Joaillerie necklace description reads: “The combination of an elliptical link chain necklace with delicate South Sea pearls and brilliant diamonds floating between the links makes for a bold yet feminine statement.”
Kamala has worn pearls since graduating from university and has a huge collection of different necklaces.
