White, especially in the USA, is associated with the Suffragette movement. It was a landmark moment and the first in many important leap forwards for the battle of equal rights for women, a rights issue that rumbles on to this day.
She wore another white gown for the Liberty Ball ahead of his first day in office.
Ivanka, too, evoked the imagery of the Suffragettes during her father’s campaign and presidency.

On various other occasions she wore white during her employment as Senior Advisor to the President.

To this day the colour is used to make a powerful statement.
For her first day in Congress in 2019, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez wore white.
Later she wrote on Twitter: “I wore all-white today to honor [sic] the women who paved the path before me, and for all the women yet to come. From suffragettes to Shirley Chisholm, I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for the mothers of the movement.”
