Hair mask recipe: How to make a natural hair mask using castor, jojoba, and coconut oil

[ad_1]

TikTok is an excellent place to pick up beauty advice, and we could all use some of that considering salons and hairdressers are closed until at least April 12. TikTok users are making hair treatments and masks from natural oils, such as castor and jojoba oil, and crafts supplier Cosy Owl has revealed the recipe for a four-ingredient hair mask that you can easily make at home.

How to make a natural hair mask using castor, jojoba, and coconut oil

Most store-bought hair masks contain one or more natural oils, such as coconut oil and jojoba oil.

If you can get your hands on a few of these oils, you can make your own shine-restoring hair mask at home.

The experts at Cosy Owl said: “You can create a nourishing hair treatment quickly and easily at home with these three simple steps.

“Why not apply your treatment to your hair whilst relaxing in a hot, bubble bath. This is a great way to unwind!”

Apply the treatment to your hair and either plait it, wrap it in silk, or brush it through your hair.

The mask will work on the scalp and ends, so apply it to your problem areas generously.

If you have oily skin already, you might want to avoid your scalp and stick to the ends of your hair.

Leave the mask to sit for at least 10 minutes, but the longer you leave it the better.

Wash your hair as normal with shampoo and, if your hair is extra dry, use a conditioner.

Coconut oil is extremely moisturising and will help to prevent hair breakage and split ends.

This oil is lauric acid and can penetrate the hair shaft, get rid of any frizz and add shine.

Coconut oil is brilliant for people with dry hair or hair that is damaged from heat or bleach.

Vitamin E is the main vitamin in coconut oil – this vitamin supports scalp health and protects your hair’s lipid layer.

Castor oil is another vegetable oil that is full of nutrients, fatty acids, and provides essential proteins that your hair needs.

Castor oil is also anti-inflammatory, a great source of Vitamin E, and will improve your hair shafts’ flexibility and shine.

The oil indirectly promotes hair growth by strengthening your strands from the inside out.

Jojoba oil is packed with vitamin E, vitamin C, vitamin B, copper and zinc – all vitamins and minerals that will strengthen your hair and promote hair thickness.

The oil does this by moisturising the hair follicles which prevents the dryness that leads to hair loss.

Jojoba oil could also prevent hair breakage and relieve irritated and itchy scalps.
