Aldi shoppers ‘gutted’ after clothing line sells out in days and is flogged on Ebay

Aldi’s hotly anticipated Aldimania range debuted online this week (April 25) and was quickly whipped up by eager shoppers. Today, the supermarket announced the items had sold out just three days after the launch.

A Facebook post said: “THANK YOU ALL. WE ARE SO CHUFFED YOU LIKE THE NEW RANGE, CAN’T BELIEVE #ALDISPRINGSUMMER21 HAS SOLD OUT ONLINE. If you missed out, watch this space for the date the boxers & socks are dropping in store.”

The post received hundreds of comments from upset customers disappointed that they could not get their hands on the clothes. One customer said: “Bit like the egg chairs! Never stand a chance!”

Shoppers fumed that several of the items had appeared on Ebay, including a £15 Aldi hoodie selling for £50.

One woman said: “I’m at a loss why you would want to wear clothing emblazoned with Aldi.” And another added: “Is this range not a joke?!? People are buying Aldi branded clothing?!”

The range was released as part of last week’s SpecialBuy selection, which often prove to be a hit.

Aldi did warn customers prior to the launch that they would need to be quick as the items would likely sell out. It said: “Soon you’ll be able to wear the Aldi logo loud and proud. We’re talking unisex hoodies, hipsters, pyjamas and socks.

“But you’ll need to be quick. Because as with all Specialbuys – once they’re gone, they’re gone. And trust us, these will go!”
