The eccentric multi-billionaire and SpaceX CEO, Elon Musk, has philosophised that humanity is already most likely living in a simulation. Speaking on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast back in 2018, Mr Musk predicted that humanity will end in one of two ways.
He said: “If you assume any rate of improvement at all then games will be indistinguishable from reality or civilisation will end.
“One of those two things will occur.
“Therefore we are most likely in a simulation.”
When pressed on why he thought humanity would turn to simulated living, Mr Musk said it would be to give us more time.
He added: “The universe as we know it will dissipate into a fine mist of cold nothingness eventually, so I think it’s really about how we can make it last longer.”
Mr Musk regularly entertains bizarre and controversial conspiracy myths and on multiple occasions has talked about the existence of aliens.
The SpaceX CEO also theorised that there could be many different simulations running concurrently.
When asked about whether he believed in the multiverse theory, Mr Musk opined that there are probably many different simulations that could be identified as a multiverse.

“Let me tell you, if you see an action movie being filmed it’s super boring.
“So if we are in a simulation it’s likely that it’s really boring outside the simulation because why would you make a simulation that’s boring?”
