Despite being one of the Queen’s granddaughters, Zara lives a very normal life with her husband Mike and children Mia, Lena and Lucas. And, much like many other Britons, the daughter of Princess Anne indulges in takeaways every now and then, a source said.
They told Fabulous Digital: “She and Mike relax in their dog-strewn home with a box set, a good curry and some lagers to assist the evening.
“They love a Saturday night in their local pub, content in the knowledge that their two happy daughters are tucked up with granny Princess Anne, listening to her reading them stories.”
Zara has also been pictured snacking on pizza and ice creams while attending the Gatcombe Horse Trials.
And in late 2019, Mike shared on Instagram a picture of four hamburgers he prepared at his home in Gatcombe Park.
While they sometimes indulge in comfort food, both Zara and Mike are sportspeople who look after their diet.
Zara, an equestrian who took part in the 2012 London Olympics, said in 2015 she began her days at 7am with Greek yoghurt and honey before jumping on the exercise bike at her home.
Princess Anne’s daughter also said she keeps her lunches quite simple and lean.

Speaking to The Sunday Times, she added: “Lunch is quick and simple, like soup and a sandwich or eggs and toast.
“I don’t diet but I try to eat well and not to eat too many carbohydrates or sugary things.”
Mike – who won the rugby World Cup with England in 2003 – revealed his favourite choice of takeaway in 2007.
He told the Guardian: “If Zara is away competing I’ll have my only takeaway of the week.
DON’T MISS
“It would definitely be a Chinese – it might be a banquet for two but obviously that would just be for me. I can do that fairly easily.”
Mike and Zara live near Princess Anne in Gloucestershire.
The couple is already the proud parents of seven-year-old Mia and two-year-old Lena, and welcomed in March their first baby boy, Lucas.
The former rugby player casually announced to the world the birth of his son during an episode of his podcast, The Good, The Bad & The Rugby.
Asked how his weekend had been, the England champion started speaking about the recent rugby matches.
He said: “Crazy weekend, wasn’t it. Saturday… all the rugby.
“Obviously Scotland, absolutely, actually I was genuinely angry after the England game.
“And then the anger just dissipated with four and a half minute of beautiful French joy.
“And then on Sunday got even better because a little baby boy arrived at my house!”
Lucas was born in the bathroom of the Tindall’s residence, Mike added.
He said: “Arrived very quickly. Didn’t make it to hospital. On the bathroom floor.
“So yeah, it was running to the gym, get a mat, get into the bathroom, get the mat on the floor, towels down, brace, brace, brace.”
