Piers Morgan vows to ‘take fight to Palace’ as he slams Meghan Markle for ‘downright lies’ | Royal | News

The former Good Morning Britain presenter is set to speak out on Australian show 60 Minutes. In a bombshell teaser released ahead of the programme on Sunday, Morgan hits out at the Duchess of Sussex for telling “downright lies” in her and Prince Harry’s controversial Oprah Winfrey interview in March.
In the trailer, the ex-newspaper editor refers to Meghan’s claim – which has since been debunked – that she and Harry tied the knot secretly in their “backyard” days before their extravagant Windsor wedding.
Morgan says: “They were downright lies.
“That would make the Archbishop of Canterbury a criminal.”
The teaser also warns that Morgan is “taking his fight straight to the Palace”.
The narrator says: “He duked it out with the Duchess.
“And famously got fired.
“Now Piers Morgan is back and taking his fight straight to the Palace.
“Why the king of controversy refuses to be cancelled.”

Host Karl Stefanovic replies: “Are you going to take one?”
Morgan sensationally left ITV’s GMB, which he had presented since 2015, following a row over comments he made about the former actress in the wake of her and Harry’s tell-all interview.
The Sussexes, who are living in California after quitting royal duties last year, made a set of damaging claims about the royal during the TV interview.
They claimed royal aides declined to help Meghan when she felt suicidal and said a relative had made a racist comment about their son’s skin colour.
But Morgan told GMB viewers he “didn’t believe a word” the ex-Suits star had told Winfrey about life in the Royal Family – before leaving the show a day later.
Regulator Ofcom confirmed Meghan had complained to them about the presenter’s comments.
The Duchess is also reported to have complained directly to ITV.
