Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, 39, has launched a milestone project proving her lifelong dedication to early years learning. On Friday, the Duchess announced her new Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood that will focus on raising awareness of why the first five years of life are so important for people’s future life outcomes.

In order to mark the Centre’s first day, Kate hosted a reception for parents whose children will use the Centre at Kensington Palace.

Photos of the Duchess stepping out to mark the event showed her beaming in a pastel blue dress and holding a multi-coloured umbrella to protect her from the drizzle.

While Kate initially struggled to find confidence in her royal role a decade into her time as a senior royal the Duchess has landed on her feet, a body language expert has claimed.

Body language expert and author Judi James analysed photos of Kate at Friday’s engagement and shared her findings.

The analyst told Express.co.uk: “Launching her Centre for Early Childhood today it is possible to say that Kate has never looked quite so confident, radiant and inspired by her own long-awaited project.

“While the rest of us have been gloomily sodden in the recent summer storms, Kate managed to navigate her walk from car to venue in a downpour and still look immaculate.”

Kate’s huge grin is “fun and personalised”, Judi claimed.

She added: “Her smile here is classic Kate although, as has happened many times recently, it begins as her pitch-perfect, symmetric smile but evolves into something more fun and personalized.”

Speaking in a clip to announce the new centre, Kate said: “Working closely with others, the centre hopes to raise awareness of why the first five years of life are just so important for our future life outcomes, and what we can do as a society to embrace this golden opportunity to create a happier, more mentally healthy, more nurturing society.

“By working together, my hope is that we can change the way we think about early childhood, and transform lives for generations to come. Because I truly believe big change starts small.”

Kate and William have had an extremely busy year as their royal roles have ramped up in the wake of Megxit.

William will celebrate his 39th birthday on Monday and Kate may release new family photos to mark the milestone as she has done in previous years.
