Princess Beatrice wedding: Royal could skip tradition like Eugenie and Kate Middleton
[ad_1]
Princess Beatrice and Edoardo are set to marry this year after announcing their engagement in September last year. Like most royal brides, she is sure to pick a tiara from the Queen’s private collection. Kate Middleton and Princess Eugenie both broke traditions when choosing their design, will Princess Beatrice do they same?
Unlike many royal brides, Kate chose a design made by a French designer rather than a British one.
It was gifted to the Queen Mother by King George VI and was an anniversary present.
Princess Eugenie also broke away from picking a traditional tiara and picked the Greville Emerald Kokoshnik Tiara, which had an emerald jewel.
When choosing what tiara to wear, Princess Beatrice may look to earlier royal weddings for inspiration.
DON’T MISS
In fact, she may even choose the same wedding tiara as her grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, Ben Johnson, Managing Director at Miltons Diamonds, told Express.co.uk.
He said: “It’s very likely that Princess Beatrice will wear a tiara and, like her sister, will borrow one from the royal collection.
“In my opinion, she will avoid coloured gemstones and have diamonds instead.
“The Queen Mary’s Fringe Tiara could be the perfect complement to her gorgeous engagement ring.”
He said: “Garrard created the Queen Mary Fringe tiara in 1919. The famous jeweller had been asked to dismantle her necklace, the wedding present given to her by Queen Victoria in 1893.
“It is made up of 47 diamond bars that are divided by smaller diamond spikes to mimic a Russian Kokoshnik Tiara. It can be also worn as a necklace.
“The Queen Mother also lent it to her granddaughter, Princess Anne, for her marriage to captain Mark Phillips in 1973.”
