Kate and William will see some tensions with Prince Harry during the event due to “deep rooted issues,” according to a royal source. Speaking to Dailystar.co.uk the source said: “The Duchess has seen this project evolve from its conception and now to the finished article and undoubtedly wants to be there to support her husband.”

The insider added: “No doubt there will be tensions between the Cambridges and Harry, but they all recognise that despite the obvious and deep rooted issues between them, they want the day to be solely about the Princess of Wales’s enduring legacy.”

The event is expected to take place at Kensington Palace on July 1, the day Princess Diana would have turned 60.

The Duke of Sussex is set to return to the UK from California to attend the poignant ceremony.

According to the Mail on Sunday, Prince Harry is set to “appoint” his own reporter to cover the day.

But further details of the upcoming event remain undisclosed.

TV Royal Rota podcast hosts Chris Ship and Lizzie Robinson discussed the event and the rules Harry will have to follow upon his return.

Mr Ship told listeners: “The big statue unveiling is due on July the 1st. That’s not that far away but we have absolutely zero details about it.

“No one’s given us any sort of heads up on what where when and why.
