Catherine St-Laurent said the Duke and the Duchess of Sussex could potentially become “very influential leaders”. Following her stint as chief of staff, Ms St-Laurent became senior adviser to the Archewell Foundation, the couple’s charitable organisation.

Speaking to The Cut, Ms St-Laurent described Harry and Meghan as “creative leaders”.

She said: “It was an incredible experience. They are incredibly talented and creative leaders.

“I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to do that, to be able to be with them on their journey.

“The time that I spent with them was incredibly fulfilling.

“I think they have the potential to be very influential leaders in the social-impact space. I look forward to continuing to be a part of that.”

Since leaving their royal duties, Harry and Meghan launched their own business ventures and signed lucrative deals, including one with Netflix.

Harry returned to the UK last week to unveil a statue in honour of his mother, Princess Diana.

The Duke also took time out to make a surprise appearance at a London charity event to meet with seriously ill children.

He visited Kew Gardens in west London for an awards ceremony for WellChild, a charity he is patron of.

Ed Sheeran and Ronnie Wood also attended.

Harry, father to newborn Lilibet and Archie, two, said: “Now as a father of two, I feel all the more connected, inspired and in awe of the resilience of these families, who power through indescribable challenges with the support of WellChild.”
