Meghan Markle news: Engagement ring from Harry worth 10 times more than ring from ex

It has been a long-standing rumour that when the marriage ended, Meghan posted her engagement ring back to Trevor.
Royal biographer Andrew Morton reported that Trevor “could barely contain his anger” when he received it.
Morton wrote, “A wealthy entrepreneur friend claimed the marriage ended so abruptly that Meghan sent her wedding and engagement rings back to Trevor by registered post.
“Another confirmed that the decision to end the marriage was made by Meghan and that it had come ‘totally out of the blue’.”
DON’T MISS:
Much has been said about the marriage between Meghan and Trevor, but not much has been discussed about the engagement ring itself.
Diamond expert, Zack Stone, estimates that the engagement ring featured a round solitaire diamond, weighing just under two carats.
The double band was either thin platinum or white gold, and it featured a beautiful set of pave diamonds.
Zack Stone estimates the value of the engagement ring to be £13,000 which equates to $18,000 USD.
This is ten times less than Meghan’s engagement ring from Prince Harry which valued at around £134,000, or $186,000 USD.
Prince Harry’s ring features a centre stone double the size of that in Trevor’s ring and is estimated to weigh between three and four carats.
The centre stone sits between two round diamonds from Princess Diana’s jewellery collection which weigh under one carat each.
Harry told the BBC in 2017, “The ring is obviously yellow gold because that’s Meghan’s favourite and the main stone itself I sourced from Botswana.
“The little diamonds on either side are from my mother’s jewellery collection, to make sure that she’s with us on this crazy journey together.”
However, a year and a half later Meghan upgraded her engagement ring from Prince Harry.
She replaced the plain yellow gold band with a more elaborate diamond-studded band.
The two different engagement rings are quite similar in looks but they are on opposite ends of the price spectrum.
