Prince Harry’s bombshell memoir announcement takes Royal Family by surprise – ‘Oh gosh’ | Royal | News

The Royal Family were completely unaware of the Duke of Sussexes plans to release a memoir outlining life as a member of the Royal Family, insiders claim. Sources close to his father, Prince Charles, were “surprised” upon hearing the news, with one saying “oh gosh”.

Palace aides declined commenting about the surprising news and said that more will be said once the book is published.

“The Prince of Wales loves his children very much and remains focussed on his work to ensure we have a sustainable future for the next generation including his own children, and grandchildren,” a senior Clarence House aide said.

The Duke of Sussex, 36, announced a deal with Penguin Random House publishers and said that he would be revealing his “highs and lows” in his memoir.

Proceeds will be donated to charity, however, specific details about the amount has not been disclosed.

“Covering his lifetime in the public eye from childhood to the present day, including his dedication to service, the military duty that twice took him to the frontlines of Afghanistan, and the joy he has found in being a husband and father Prince Harry will offer an honest and captivating personal portrait, one that shows readers that behind everything they think they know lies an inspiring, courageous, and uplifting human story.”

Penguin House have added that they are “thrilled to publish” the Prince.

“Prince Harry has harnessed his extraordinary life experience as a prince, a soldier, and a knowledgeable advocate for social issues, establishing himself as a global leader recognized for his courage and openness,” Markus Dohle, CEO of Penguin Random House said.
