Prince Charles: Body language expert on his relationship with Beatrice and Eugenie

This has, reportedly, strained relations with his younger brother Prince Andrew, who notably insisted his daughters be raised with their Princess titles because it was their “blood-right”. This was not practised by Prince Charles’s other siblings, Princess Anne or Prince Edward, both choosing to raise their children out of the public eye and without royal titles. Many royal watchers have wondered whether Prince Andrew’s daughters have any resentment towards the Prince of Wales for his desires to potentially strip them of their titles and royal privileges.
The few times Prince Charles and Camilla have appeared alone with the two princesses is when they attend the Royal Ascot in the same carriage.
Judi James, a body language specialist, spoke exclusively to Express.co.uk about the perceived relationship between Prince Charles and his nieces, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie from these photographs.
Judi said: “When we see both sisters with Charles the relationships look a little complex.
“Beatrice still face-gazes Charles with warm affection in some of these poses but Eugenie is seen sucking her lips in, and in one pose in the carriage, both sisters appear to be looking rather distant.

“Eugenie might be the younger sister, but she always seems to take a more confident and even nurturing role with Beatrice.
“Beatrice seems to be glancing at her sister as though keen to mimic her non-verbal reaction to Camilla and Charles in public.
“Eugenie is known to be very close to her cousin Harry too, which might have led to some degree of inner conflict if there is any sense of side-taking in the Royal Family.”
Both the princesses are known to be incredibly protective over their mother Sarah Ferguson, and Judi says this was crystal clear at Princess Eugenie’s wedding in 2018.

Prince Charles, however, was one of the few senior royals to be seen truly embracing the Duchess of York in St George’s Chapel in Windsor.
She said: “Probably the biggest body language clue about the relationship between Charles and his nieces Beatrice and Eugenie comes from the photograph at Eugenie’s wedding.
“Both sisters are incredibly close to and protective of their mother and her appearance at Eugenie’s wedding showed Fergie showing signs of nerves and anxiety as she rushed in to take her seat right in front of the top tier royals, despite all the historic rejection of her over several decades.
“Beatrice appeared to be placed next to her mother to offer support and she was seen keeping Fergie talking continuously, presumably in a bid to relax her and keep her occupied.
“We can see Charles also engaging Sarah in some very animated conversation here though, leaning forward and laughing with her despite the fact that some of the other royals looked keener to ignore her presence.
“Beatrice’s wide smile as she gazes at her mother’s face here suggests how grateful she is for the public nod from her uncle.
“It would be hard to see anything but affection between niece and uncle, even if it were for this one action alone.”
Prince Charles’s genuine happy reaction to seeing Fergie at the wedding perhaps signifies there is no bad blood between him and his former sister-in-law.
