Britain is home to many billionaires, with mega-wealthy businessmen and women coming from all different types of industries and backgrounds. There are success stories to be found all across the UK, and inspiration to be taken from those who have achieved stunning success.
Here are Britain’s five richest billionaires, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index:
5. Laurence Graff- £6.45billion
Graff’s wealth has come from jewellery, with the 83-year-old best known for founding Graff Diamonds.
He became an apprentice after leaving school at 15 and quickly went into the jewellery trade, going on to build an empire.
Graff was born in Stepney to a Romanian mother and a Russian father, and now resides in Switzerland.

3. Hugh Grosvenor- £9.39billion
Grosvenor is the 7th Duke of Westminster, inheriting the role after his father Gerald died in 2016.
The fortune that Grosvenor owns was passed on to him after the death of his father.
According to Bloomberg, the 30-year-old also inherited land which his family has owned since 1677.
2. Jim Ratcliffe- £16.45billion
Many people may not be familiar with the second richest man in the UK, as the chemical engineer turned financier and industrialist Jim Ratcliffe take the honour.
Ratcliffe is the founder, chairman and CEO of the Ineos chemicals group, a massive multinational chemical company estimated to have turned over £10.92billion in 2019.
The billionaire is famously publicity shy and likes to maintain a low public profile.
1. James Dyson- £19.51billion
Dyson is a household name in the UK, best known for his range of vacuum cleaners and other products.
He is also the richest man in the country. Dyson’s creations have allowed him to amass a huge fortune.
The inventor opened his own university, the Dyson Institute of Engineering and Technology in 2017, hoping to inspire the next generation.
