Concerns are growing for British actress Tanya Fear after she was reported missing in southern California.
Fear, who starred in Doctor Who in 2018, was last seen on Thursday, when her family reported her missing to Los Angeles police, her manager Alex Cole said.
A missing person poster circulating on social media says the actress went missing in the “LA/Hollywood Bowl area”.
Mr Cole said Fear, who has also appeared in UK shows Cleaning Up and Endeavour, as well as the 2015 film A Moving Image, had recently been performing stand-up comedy and had been in the LA area for two months.
He said that they last talked eight days ago when they discussed work. She was fine, Mr Cole said, adding that it was a “shock” to learn that she had disappeared.
One Twitter user, who said they were Fear’s cousin, wrote: “Please please please share if you have mutually in the LA/Hollywood bowl area. My cousin is missing, she has no family in the US and we’re all really worried.”
The official fan account for Doctor Who also tweeted the Missing Person poster, which reads: “Missing Person alert: Tanya Fear who played Jade in ‘Arachnids In The UK went missing on 9/9/2021. [with thanks to @BAdWilf for the heads up].”
Born as Tanyaradzwa Fear and raised in London, the star now lives in LA and is described as being 5ft 3in and around 140lbs, with brown eyes and black afro hair.
On the night she disappeared, she was said to be wearing a brown short sleeve fitted top and dark plaid bottoms.
She is best known to UK audiences for her role as Dr Jade McIntyre in Doctor Who.
She appeared to be last active on Twitter on 8 September, a day before she went missing, when she retweeted a post by Dolly Parton.
