Princess Anne: The Queen’s daughter is ‘a true style icon’ for this reaso

[ad_1]

1970s

As a young Princess, who turned 18-years-old in 1968, Anne was ahead of what was fashionable.

When she was in her 20s, Anne chose bold colours to make a statement wherever she went, with many events being film premieres.

Pictures from her stepping out showed Anne taking on the decades hemlines and swiftly followed up with the florals the ‘70s were famous for.

In 1973, Anne was pictured arriving for the royal film performance at the Odeon in Leicester Square.

Her hair was styled into an up-do and she chose a floor-length, multicoloured dress.

With a ruffled high neck, the man bodice was made from elastic and had half puff-ball sleeves from above the elbow to the wrist.

The dress had an A-line skirt and the pattern adorned bright colours of pink, yellow, green and cornflower blue.

On another occasion, Anne was seen with her mother and father, Prince Philip.

She and Queen Elizabeth had coordinated as both worn slightly different shades of blue.

Towards the end of the decade, Princess Anne was seen attending a film premiere in London and was pictured wearing a turquoise green, full-length dress.

With capped sleeves and a high neck, the dress was detailed with two large contrasting purple stripes, one at the waist ad the other across the shoulders.
