Before Daniel Craig became James Bond, Pierce Brosnan bagged the role, debuting in 1995’s GoldenEye. And now unearthed reactions to the then-new 007 have seen Idris Elba spotted giving his take on the film. At the end of the clip, the future Hollywood star chimed in with his friend.
Referring to Timothy Dalton, his friend said: “Better than the last one.”
Before a 23-year-old Elba said of Brosnan: “He’s got the charm and he’s got all the looks, y’know what I mean?
“And he’s fit, he’s strong and blah, blah, blah. Yeah he’s alright, he’s alright.”
An undiscovered actor at the time, today the 49-year-old is one of the bookies’ favourites to be the next Bond.

Interestingly, Brosnan himself has backed Elba to be the next Bond after Craig.
Speaking with People, the 68-year-old said: “Idris Elba comes to mind. Idris is such a powerful presence and such a great former voice tensity. He would be magnificent.”
Brosnan went on to star in three more Bond movies in Tomorrow Never Dies, The World Is Not Enough and Die Another Day.
Meanwhile, No Time To Die hits UK cinemas on September 30, 2021.
