Princess Diana was a fashion icon, with her style and jewellery envied the world over. After she died in 1997, many of Diana’s most memorable jewellery items were not seen publicly for several years. But now Diana’s sons Prince William and Prince Harry are married, their wives Kate, Duchess of Cambridge and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, have worn her jewellery on several occasions. Here are just some of Diana’s jewellery items Meghan has been seen wearing over the years.

Cartier Tank Française watch

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle recently appeared on the front cover of TIME magazine, after being named as two of the most influential people in the world.

For the cover, Meghan wore a striking all-white outfit, accessorised with what is thought to be the Cartier Tank Française watch.

The Cartier watch was once a firm favourite of Princess Diana, and she frequently wore the watch in the 1990s.

“Flanked by trapeze cut diamonds, a mixture of a yellow gold band, and a white gold mount, the emerald cut aquamarine is estimated at 30cts, and as with most high-quality aquamarines, it is clean and has strong and even colouration.”

According to the gem expert, the ring could be worth a staggering six-figure sum.

Ms Michell added: “When Princess Diana passed, the ring was left to Prince Harry, who gifted it to his bride Meghan.

“She wore it to their wedding reception in 2018 as a tribute to her late mother-in-law.

“In 2018, the ring was estimated at £75,000, however, should this piece be presented at auction today, and with such an unconventional story behind it, I would think this piece would fetch over £100,000.”

Butterfly earrings

Princess Diana wore a pair of cute butterfly earrings on several occasions, notably on a trip to Canada in 1986.

Since Meghan married Prince Harry, she has also been seen wearing the butterfly earrings at more than one event.

During the Sussexes’ 2018 tour of Australia, Meghan was seen wearing the earrings while out and about in Sydney.
