Prince Harry is openly spoken about how deeply his mother’s tragic death affects him to this day.

Princess Diana was killed in a car crash in 1997 when Harry was just 12 years old.

Prince Harry and Meghan first indicated they were unhappy with royal life during a trip to Africa last autumn.

On the tour Harry, referred to his mother’s death as “a wound that festers” and explained his wish to protect his wife from the same fate as his mother.

Speaking in ITV documentary Harry & Meghan: An African Journey, he told Tom Bradby: “So everything that she went through and what happened to her is incredibly raw every single day and that’s not me being paranoid that’s just me not wanting a repeat of the past.

”And if anybody else knew what I knew, be it a father, be it a husband, be it, anyone, you’d probably be doing exactly what I’m doing as well.”
