Last week, Daniel Craig’s fifth and final 007 movie No Time To Die hit cinemas and now today marks Global James Bond Day. The first official Bond movie Dr No hit cinemas on October 5, 1962 starring Sean Connery, who died aged 90 last year. And now it turns out the original 007 is still very the public’s favourite take on the character, topping even Craig.
Jewellery specialists Angelic Diamonds have compiled monthly data based on Google searches, Instagram hashtags and Wikipedia page visits to find Connery is still the public’s best-loved Bond.
The Scottish star portrayed Ian Fleming’s spy in six official James Bond movies and one unofficial outing Never Say Never Again.
Connery was found to have 450,000 average monthly searches, 304,000 Instagram hashtags and 29,118,237 Wikipedia page visits.
While the average IMDB score for all his films is the best of any Bond star. Here are the full rankings:

Moore, who died in 2017 aged 89, had 90,500 average monthly searches, 116,000 Instagram hashtags and over 12.4 million Wikipedia page visits.
While in fifth place was Timothy Dalton who played Bond twice in 1987’s The Living Daylights and 1989’s Licence To Kill.
He saw 49,500 average monthly searches, 41,200 Instagram hashtags and over 7.4 million Wikipedia page views.
Last, but not least, was George Lazenby who only played Bond once in 1969’s On Her Majesty’s Secret Service. The Australian actor saw 33,100 average monthly searches, 23,600 Instagram hashtags over 5.2 million Wikipedia page views.
