Switching to the account also means homeowners will not need to worry about doing gas meter readings.

Martin told viewers: “If you don’t already have a British Gas Smart meter, it will install one as part of this.

“All that means is you won’t need to give meter readings in future.

“So, if you’re currently a British Gas customer, and want to stick with it, this is often a no-brainer saving.”

Although British Gas are offering a huge discount, Martin explained this is not necessarily the best day.
