How Kate Middleton sparked fashion frenzy with Scotland appearance

Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, and Prince William were in Scotland earlier this week for COP26, a landmark climate summit that is being held in Glasgow this year. Kate and William had a busy schedule of engagements on Monday, November 1, meaning there were a few outfit changes for the pair.
Before the COP26 evening reception on Monday, Kate and William managed to squeeze in some royal engagements in Scotland.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge paid a visit to Alexandra Park Sports Hub, where they met up with the Scouts.
Fitting with the climate-conscious theme of COP26, Kate and William got to learn more about the Scouts’ #PromiseToThePlanet campaign.
Kate wore a casual outfit for the engagement, consisting of a long-sleeved roll neck jumper and black jeans.

Kate also wore the scouting scarf and opted to wear her famously luscious locks down for the occasion.
For the outdoor setting, Kate donned a pair of combat boots that she has recycled on previous occasions.
However, it appears it was Kate’s quilted vest that caused the biggest stir among royal fashion fans.
According to creative resource Design Bundles, online searches for “quilted vest” jumped to 1,300 percent on November 2, the day after Kate appeared wearing one.
Based on Google search data analysis, the interest in quilted vests skyrocketed to 14 times the average volume in one day.
A spokesperson for Design Bundles said of the findings: “Kate Middleton is the ultimate style icon, combining classic elegance with the powerful ability to champion the causes she cares about and communicate meaning with every outfit she wears.
“The Duchess of Cambridge’s ensemble for the Scouts #promise to the planet event was winningly casual – she cut a clean and graceful figure while refusing to divert attention from the important cause of action on climate change she and Prince William were supporting.
“Her vest was crafted from a special fabric made with 100 percent recycled polyester, and her combat boots have been worn several times before, a combination [that] allowed her to speak to the overwhelming importance of protecting the planet.”

Online searches for ‘coat dress’ also jumped by a staggering 669 percent, eight times the average volume, in light of Kate’s second outfit choice of the day.
The search was likely fueled by Kate’s smart blue coat dress from Eponine, which she wore for the COP26 evening reception on Monday.
Kate paired the classic dress with navy heels that she has been seen wearing on several occasions.
Kate also sported a pair of £3,500 earrings from KiKi McDonough, earrings thought to be favoured by the Duchess.
The Design Bundles spokesperson added: “Kate Middleton cut a particularly bold and striking figure at the COP26 Sustainable Market Initiative reception.
“Her cobalt blue coat dress, accessorised with a poppy ahead of Remembrance Sunday, featured defined shoulder pads – an unusual choice for the Duchess, who usually chooses softer shoulders for her outfits.
“The crisp outline of her dress, combined with its bold, gleaming blue, allowed her to appear both understated and powerful.
“[The dress is] possibly a nod to the greater duties she and Prince William will take on as part of the ‘fab four’ comprised of herself, the Duke of Cambridge, Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall, as the Queen starts to rest a little more from a lifetime of service.”
