The Queen has inherited a wealth of royal jewellery, from dazzling necklaces to eye-catching brooches. But it is perhaps the royal tiaras that draw the most attention among royal fans. And with their royal history and abundance of diamonds and gems, the royal tiaras are certainly worth a pretty penny.

Jim Tannahill of Suttons and Robertsons, one of London’s oldest pawnbrokers, told Express.co.uk: “With any royal connection, the market will often pay way in excess of the market when offered at auction.

“For example, in June 2006 Christie’s auctioned jewellery and Faberge pieces from the collection of HM Queen Elizabeth II’s sister, HRH Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon.

“Incredibly, all lots sold exceeded their estimates many-fold. For example, the ‘Poltimore Tiara’ Lot 192 with an estimate of £150,000 to £200,000 realised a price of £926,400.

“Once again, when the Duchess of Windsor’s jewellery was sold through Sotheby’s in 2010, the prices achieved for the 20 lots far exceeded the estimates given, achieving an incredible £7,975,550.

The Queen Mary Fringe Tiara is another expensive royal tiara, valued at £5million.

The tiara was worn by three royal brides in recent decades: The Queen, Princess Anne and Princess Beatrice.

Queen Mary’s Diamond Bandeau Tiara would also command a seven-figure sum at auction.

The tiara was worn by Meghan Markle for her 2018 wedding and is valued at £2million.
