Tom Holland teases ‘brutal, dark, sad’ Spider-Man No Way Home ‘It’s not fun’ Who will die? | Films | Entertainment

Without a doubt, Spider-Man: No Way Home is the biggest and most hyped Marvel movie since Avengers: Endgame. It should come as no surprise then that director Jon Watt has described the threequel as Spider-Man: Endgame. Shrouded in secrecy, next month’s blockbuster is opening up the Marvel multiverse, bringing back some classic Sony villains and maybe even Peter Parkers.

While Tom Holland’s first two Spider-Man solo movies in Homecoming and Far From Home had that sunny, humorous feel to them, the star himself now claims No Way Home will be pretty much the opposite.

Speaking with Total Film, the 25-year-old said: “What people will be really surprised about is that it’s not fun, this film, It’s dark and it’s sad, and it’s going to be really affecting.”

He teased that fans will see characters they’ve fallen in love with go through incredibly tough times.

While the ever-optimistic Peter Parker, who has been accused of murdering Mysterio, will have totally met his match.

With such an ominous tease from Holland, could we be seeing some major character deaths like in Avengers Endgame?

Perhaps supporting characters in Spider-Man: No Way Home could be up for the chop like MJ, Ned, Happy Hogan or Aunt May.

Or, if the rumours are to be believed, maybe even Tobey Maguire or Andrew Garfield’s Peter Parkers?

Whatever the case, Holland is confident that his third solo outing is going to be one for the ages.

Interestingly, Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange mentors Peter in Spider-Man: No Way Home.

While the next movie in the MCU slate will be the Sorceror Supreme’s second solo outing in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

The blockbuster, which is released in May 2022, is directed by Sam Raimi who helmed Maguire’s original Spider-Man trilogy, so who knows what cameos could show up there?

Spider-Man: No Way Home hits cinemas on December 17, 2021.
