Paul Walker lost his life on November 30, 2013. The star was involved in a car accident that claimed his life alongside his friend’s, Roger Rodas, who was driving the vehicle. Vin Diesel paid tribute to the eight-year anniversary of his friend’s death with a lengthy post on his Instagram account, where he opened up about the advice he received from the late star.

Diesel and Walker first met on the set of the first Fast and Furious film (The Fast and the Furious) in 2001.

Walker starred in every film in the franchise up until Furious 7. His role was cut short as he died during filming, prompting his brother to fill in for some scenes.

Diesel posted a photo of his daughter, Hania Riley, alongside Walker’s daughter, Meadow Walker.

In his post he recalled Walker sitting down with him and saying: “What’s on your mind?”

He wrote: “You always knew when something was on my mind. Haha. I told you that I was about to have a baby and didn’t know what to expect at the hospital which I was heading to after work. Will never forget what you told me.” (sic)

Diesel continued: “You said a lot of tough guys will tell you to wait out side of the delivery room, but that’s wrong. Go in there, actually cut the umbilical cord and it will be the best day of your life.

“You of course, was talking from experience, having already an angel of your own [Meadow]. It’s been eight years today… and not a day goes by that I don’t reflect of the brotherhood we were blessed to have… but you know that.

“Tragedies in life are always followed by life’s blessings if you just stay open and have faith.” (sic)

He followed up by speaking about the photo of their daughters.

Diesel wasn’t the only person to pay tribute to the late Brian O’Conner actor.

His daughter Meadow also posted a photo of herself as a baby with Walker.

She wrote: “I love and miss you endlessly. Today and everyday I celebrate your life, your love. And you, my best friend.” (sic)

Walker’s legacy in the Fast and Furious series has not yet come to an end, however.

In F9’s final moments Brian’s car arrived at Dominic Toretto’s house, hinting that his time in the film franchise had not yet come to an end.

His on-screen wife, Mia Toretto (Jordana Brewster) recently told Express.co.uk she hopes to see Brian’s kids come into the story more in the future.

She said: “Also, my kids! Maybe my kids have grown up a bit more. Maybe they’re a bit of trouble? I feel like there’s lots to explore.”

The Fast and Furious franchise is available to rent on Amazon Prime Video.
