The King of Rock and Roll spent a lot of time on the road, so had his private jets in Memphis. The most famous was the Lisa Marie, named after his only child. And now one of Elvis Presley’s pilot has revealed how he was caught sleeping in The King’s bed on board.

Speaking in a new interview with Spa Guy, Ron Strauss spoke of how he and the flight crew would often get calls at 2 or 3 in the morning to prepare the Lisa Marie.

Often they didn’t know where Elvis would want to go and sometimes he just wouldn’t show up.

The pilot said how the crew would often go back to sleep after preparing the plane until sunrise, knowing that if it got to that point The King would have changed his mind.

Recounting one occasion, Ron said: “By the time I got done with the stuff that I was doing, the other pilot was asleep on one of the couches [and] the flight engineer was on the other couch.”

Meanwhile, Elvis’ ex-wife Priscilla has spoken of how she feels something spiritual about Graceland.

Speaking with Local 24 Memphis last month, the 74-year-old said: “When our guests come to Graceland they want more.

“There’s something very, very spiritual about Graceland. And he loved that, he loved that feeling.

“But yes, he would absolutely be blown away that his legacy lives on and that people still appreciate and that the younger people are coming more and more and more.”

While in a 2015 interview, she was asked if she communicates with Elvis, to which she replied: “His spirit is communicating to me.”

“When I go to Graceland, my gosh.

“I can walk in that door and see him walking down the stairs, I can hear laughter, I can hear the music playing in the music room.

“It’s a very surreal feeling. But it’s not scary, it’s beautiful.”
