Sophie Wessex’s unique jade necklace valued at £80,000 – ‘Intricately carved’

Sophie Wessex has been seen wearing some beautiful jewels over the years; most of which come from the Royal Family’s Crown Jewels collection, or her own private collection. One piece the Countess of Wessex has rarely worn in is a gorgeous green pendant. Express.co.uk spoke to a jewellery expert at Prestige Pawnbrokers about the item.
There isn’t many details regarding the jade necklace, but it is said to be acquired by the royal at some point in the early 2010s.
Sitting on a long thin chain is a large flat circular jade, surrounded by diamonds.
Sophie was first seen wearing it at a Gala Fundraising Dinner, in 2014.
She and husband Prince Edward were photographed attending the event at the Royal Yacht Squadron in Cowes.

Deamdeburka suggested: “Seams like an old piece maybe from the 1900s , might have been worn on a extra long chain, maybe Queen Alexandra’s?”
