However, there may still be another way for people who have a greater income to get some support.
This is because there is another element to Pension Credit, known as Savings Credit.
People who have saved some money for their retirement, such as through a personal or workplace pension may be able to claim Savings Credit.
They must also have reached state pension age before April 6, 2016.
Successful claimants could get up to £14.04 a week if they are single. If they have a partner, this rises to £15.71 a week.
