How much is it?

Attendance Allowance is paid at two different rates depending on the level of care someone needs.

The lower rate of £60 is paid to those who require frequent help or constant supervision during the day, or supervision at night.

The higher rate of £89.60 is given to people who need help or supervision throughout both day and night, or who are terminally ill.

Attendance Allowance is not means-tested and therefore the amount someone earns or how much savings they have will not impact their ability to claim.

Recipients of Attendance Allowance can also increase their other benefits by claiming. They may get extra Pension Credit, Housing Benefit or Council Tax Reduction.
