Jeremy Kyle is making a TV comeback and will “have his say”, according to his new agent.

The 54-year-old’s ITV talk show was cancelled last year following the death of a guest.

Singer Peter Andre, who is also represented by The Can Group, showed his support for Kyle, posting a photo of the presenter on Instagram and writing: “Welcome to the family Jeremy” followed by a smiley face emoji.

Claire Powell, who recently signed Kyle, says he has spent a year “battling the unimaginable consequences of a devastating tragedy”.

The Jeremy Kyle Show was permanently pulled following the death of Steve Dymond, 63, whose body was found at his home in Portsmouth a week after filming the show.

Dymond had failed a lie detector test during the episode, which was never aired.

Kyle said at the time that he was “utterly devastated”.

The presenter later refused to attend a parliamentary inquiry into reality TV, during which MPs accused ITV of “corporate failure of responsibility”.

However the Digital, Culture, Media and Sport Committee’s inquiry was wrapped up early due to the general election.

Ofcom have since put forward new proposals to hold broadcasters responsible for the “wellbeing and dignity” of TV participants, including reality show contestants.

The Jeremy Kyle show, which aired the relationship issues of real life guests in front of a live studio audience, ran for 14 years across 16 series.

Speaking at the Edinburgh TV Festival last year, ITV’s director of television Kevin Lygo confirmed to Sky News’ Kay Burley that Kyle was piloting a new show.

He also said his investigative series The Kyle Files would return this year.

Mr Lygo called the presenter “a consummate broadcaster” and said “it would be absolutely wrong to apportion blame”.

At the time, Mr Lygo said Kyle’s new show would be unlikely to go into the same 9.30am morning slot.

Kyle began his career on radio, before moving into TV and also writing for several newspapers.

A father-of-five, Kyle was diagnosed with testicular cancer in 2012 but has since made a full recovery.

His agency’s post ends by saying he’ll be “back soon to have his say: Watch this space”.
