FA Cup draw LIVE: Man Utd, Arsenal and Chelsea set to learn semi-final fixtures | Football | Sport

Update
The most low-key penalty of all time has been awarded at St James’ Park. Nobody, including the commentators, had even realised a foul had been committed inside the penalty area.
Lee Mason pointed towards the spot, VAR agreed that Javier Manquillo had pushed Gabriel Jesus and birthday boy Kevin De Bruyne rolled in the penalty.
So after all that, Manchester City have a one-goal lead over Newcastle.
Today’s action
Arsenal just about handled Sheffield United at Bramall Lane in today’s early kick off. Dani Ceballos scored a stoppage-time winner around three minutes after David McGoldrick levelled. Chris Wilder looked like a bulldog chewing a wasp afterwards.
Frank Lampard’s Chelsea then secured a 1-0 win over Leicester. Substitute Ross Barkley with the only goal of the match.
One clash that flew under the radar was Southampton’s Premier League win at Vicarage Road. The Saints beat Watford 3-1 with a double from Danny Ings to secure their survival and leave the Hornets in an even more perilous situation.
That last one was quite a surprise really. I really didn’t expect Nigel Pearson’s side to go down like that.
Update…
Newcastle have reached the 25-minute mark without conceding. It’s been… well it’s been a total annihilation in all honesty. Manchester City are laying it on thick with chance after chance being created.
I would say City are camped inside Newcastle territory but it’s would be more accurate to say they’ve brought all the tools, laid the foundation and have started building an extension.
200 completed City passes to Newcastle’s 15…
Ball numbers
Not sure why you would care about these given you’re reading the draw online, but I’m contractually obliged to inform you of tonight’s ball numbers nonetheless.
1 Arsenal, 2 Newcastle or Manchester City, 3 Manchester United, 4 Chelsea
What’s the plan?
Very simple really. The semi-final draw will take place during the half-time pause in the Newcastle vs Manchester City game.
It’s very much of the ‘blink and you’ll miss it’ kind of draw with only four balls in the pot.
The semi-finals of the FA Cup are scheduled for the weekend of 18 and 19 July with the final set to take place on August 1 at Wembley. An empty Wembley. Bizarre.
Evening…
Hello everyone and welcome to our LIVE coverage of the FA Cup draw.
So… the final four. Well, technically it’s five as I write this but you understand. It’s been a long day.
Anyway, Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea are all safely through to the semi-final stage.
There’s just one position left to fill and that will go to the winner of Manchester City vs Newcastle. That’s being played at St James’ Park as we speak.
The draw is coming up in around 25 minutes and we’ll have all the build and reaction right here, right now.
