Michael Schumacher health update: Family to release footage of recovering F1 legend | F1 | Sport

[ad_1]

Michael Schmuacher’s health condition is very much unknown following the F1 legend’s skiing accident in 2013. The German suffered a serious brain injury which left him in a coma for six months.

Schumacher was only released from hospital last year and he is now trying to recover at his Swiss home surrounded by family and nurses.

Barely any information has been released regarding the seven-time F1 world champion’s condition.

His family have kept their circle as small as possible to avoid any updates being leaked to the public – until now.

An agreement has been reached with German filmmakers Michael Wech and Hanns-Bruno Kammertons to produce a documentary titlled ‘Schumacher’.

The coronavirus pandemic has delayed its release but the programme is still being worked on.

Sabine Kehm, the spokesperson for the Schumacher family, said: “The film portrays Michael’s impressive career, but also many of the facets of the complex man.

“The merciless and daring Formula 1 driver, the ambitious athlete, the accomplished mechanic with a unique technical flair, the reliable team player and loving family man.”

Schumacher’s wife Corinna is set to feature in the documentary, along with his father Rolf, daughter Gina-Maria and F1-driver son, Mick.

Co-producer of the doc, Benjamin Seikel, said: “We are thrilled to have had the trusting co-operation of Michael Schumacher ’s family and management.

“But he has an amazing wife next to him, he has his kids, his nurses, and we can only wish him the best and to wish the family the best too.

“All I can do is to be close to them until I am able to do something, and then I will do it.”
