Jose Mourinho looks set to hand Gareth Bale and Dele Alli the chance to build on their recent form when Burnley are in town later today. The Clarets travel to north London looking to upset to odds against Tottenham, who need all three points to keep their European ambitions alive.

It’s been a tough few weeks in the Premier League for Spurs, who have now lost five of their last six league outings.

However, two positive performances in the Europa League against Wolfsberg has helped restore some confidence amongst Mourinho’s ranks.

Now Spurs need to show their credentials in the Premier League, with hopes of a top-four finish now starting to fade.

Hugo Lloris is expected to keep his place between the sticks, despite a number of recent errors.

It’s the best midfield pairing available at the club and one of few positives for Spurs at the moment.

Bale has been excellent in recent weeks and will start on the right following his impressive cameo at the London Stadium.

Alli was on target in midweek with a spectacular overhead kick and is likely to have done enough to start.

On the other flank, Heung-min Son is looking to resolve his recent dip in form.

While Harry Kane leads the line and he could also do with a goal to boost his confidence.

Giovani Lo Celso remains sidelined as the Argentine closes in on his return.

Meanwhile, Tottenham boss Mourinho claims pressure is like oxygen to football managers.

“The problem is if you don’t have pressure,” he said. “It comes like oxygen, it is our life.”

Expected Tottenham XI (4-2-3-1): Lloris; Aurier, Alderweireld, Sanchez, Reguilon; Hojbjerg, Sissoko; Bale, Alli, Son; Kane.
