Liverpool news: Michael Owen fires Champions League warning | Football | Sport

Those are the thoughts of BT Sport pundit Michael Owen.
Liverpool booked their place in the quarter-finals of the Champions League after a goalless draw at home to Porto in the last 16, although the hard work was done in the first leg when they thrashed the Portuguese side 5-0.
Jurgen Klopp’s men will take their place in the last eight of the competition for the first time in nine years.
While the Reds haven’t lifted Europe’s elite prize since 2005, Owen still thinks they have a fear factor about them.
And he thinks that second legs at Anfield will be daunting for any side.
“Liverpool are set up perfectly for this type of football where it’s knockout football,” Owen told BT Sport when discussing his former club’s chances of Champions League glory.
“On their day, they can beat anyone and convincingly as well.
“It’s going to be important. Any leg or any draw they get if they are going back to Anfield in the second leg, I just fancy Liverpool regardless.
“Even if they’re 2-0 down for instance, we’ve seen it before.
“Dortmund for example, only happened a couple of seasons ago. Anfield is a magical place.
“Stevie [Gerrard] used the words dark horse and that’s probably very apt.
“Nobody in this competition will want to face Liverpool.”
