Pep Guardiola has given a blunt response when asked about Manchester City’s reported interest in signing Harry Kane this summer. Kane has reportedly told Tottenham he wants to leave at the end of the season in order to fulfil his personal ambitions.

City, Manchester United and Chelsea have all been credited with interest in the England striker, who looks set to dominate the gossip columns this summer.

Kane has scored 27 goals in 44 appearances across all competitions this season and has netted 220 goals in 334 games for Spurs in total.

Alongside Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland and Inter Milan forward Romelu Lukaku, he is sure to be on the wishlists of some of Europe’s biggest clubs.

Kane has three more years on his Spurs contract meaning chairman Daniel Levy is in a strong position when it comes to negotiating this summer.

City are in the market for a striker in the off-season, with Sergio Aguero set to end a 10-year stay with the club next month.

The same report states that Kane is aware of City’s interest and asked the club’s players in the England squad in March what their lives were like living in the north west.

City are reportedly keen to replace Aguero with Kane this summer, but The Athletic claims they would have to fork out at least £120million to do so.

United are also a potential destination this summer, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side having previously splashed out big fees for the likes of Harry Maguire and Paul Pogba.

Chelsea ‘would not be Kane’s ideal destination’, given his lifelong connection with Tottenham, while Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona are also interested in acquiring his services.

Kane, who is level with Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah on 22 goals in the race for this season’s Premier League Golden Boot, is 95 short of Alan Shearer’s 260 goals record for the competition and is thought to want to stay in the country, rather than move abroad.
