Champions League draw 2021: Liverpool group of death, Chelsea, Man City and Man Utd fate | Football | Sport

Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea have discovered their fate in this year’s Champions League after the draw was made on Thursday. Chelsea come into this year’s Champions League campaign as the defending European champions and will have a target on their back from the outset.
Both Chelsea and City were put in pot one while Liverpool and United entered in pot two.
There were arguably tougher teams coming out of the second pot with Liverpool and United joined by the likes of PSG, Dortmund, Real Madrid and Juventus among others.
And there immediately some fascinating ties for all English sides involved once their names were pulled out.
City were drawn into Group A and were quickly joined by Lionel Messi’s PSG, RB Leipzig and Club Brugge.
Liverpool meanwhile come up against defending La Liga champions Atletico Madrid and things didn’t get much easier for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
They’ve arguably been handed this year’s ‘group of death’ with both Porto and AC Milan making up the other two spaces in Group B.
Group D and E threw up some interesting clashes with Inter Milan and Real Madrid in the former while Bayern Munich and Barcelona face off in the latter.
United have their chance at revenge for last season’s defeat in the Europa League final as they face Villarreal again.
Atalanta and Young Boys make up the rest of United’s Group F.
Thomas Tuchel will face a tough test against Max Allegri’s Juventus though in Group H.
That may largely depend on what happens to Cristiano Ronaldo, but the Serie A Side are still a formidable opponent for any team.
