Liverpool thoughts on Jadon Sancho transfer
Liverpool are not expected to pursue Jadon Sancho in the summer transfer window because he would be too expensive for the club, say The Athletic.
The Premier League leaders have been linked with a host of names ahead of the summer window, having kept quiet during January, only signing Takumi Minamino.
Sancho is wanted by a host of Premier League teams after becoming a standout star for Dortmund.
The attacker has scored 12 goals in 18 Bundesliga games this campaign and is considered to be one of the best young players in the world.
But Dortmund are likely to ask for more than £100m in exchange for their left-winger.
And Liverpool do not envisage joining the race to sign the England international at that price.

Man City want Mbappe or Kane
Manchester City are plotting a huge spending spree in order to sign a long-term replacement for Sergio Aguero, according to the Daily Mirror.
The Citizens are believed to be targeting Harry Kane and Kylian Mbappe.
Aguero is approaching the twilight years of his career, and will be going into the final year of his contract next season.
Mbappe, Kane and Lautaro Martinez are all on the Spaniard’s shopping list, and it is possible that City will spend big this summer.
French megastar Mbappe is under contract at Paris Saint-Germain until 2022, and is considered to be the most valuable player in the world.
Kane, meanwhile, is tied down to Tottenham until 2018.

Bale’s Man Utd snub
Gareth Bale’s agent has revealed why the Real Madrid winger didn’t join Jose Mourinho at Manchester United.
The Portuguese was keen to sign the Wales international in the summer of 2017, so much so he reportedly instructed United’s executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward to do everything in his power to sign the forward.
Bale’s long-time representative Jonathan Barnett was quizzed about United’s attempts to lure Bale to Old Trafford during a lengthy interview with Spanish newspaperAS.
And Barnett revealed his client didn’t seal a move to the Theatre of Dreams simply because he was happy in the Spanish capital.
“Every club wanted him,” Barnett said when asked why Bale didn’t join United three years ago. “He was happy at Madrid.
“He was not for sale then, he was one of the best players in the world. He’s not for sale now.
“Real Madrid have always shown great respect for him, the president has always been a Bale fan and shows him unbelievable respect.”

Messi to Man Utd
Barcelona star Lionel Messi would probably prefer a move to Manchester City over their rivals Manchester United if he were to ever leave the Catalan club, according to Danny Mills.
“Manchester City is the only club he could go to,” he told talkSPORT.
“Because of the way that they play and his relationship with Pep Guardiola.
“Pep probably understands him more than anybody from his days at Barcelona.
“You think of Manchester United and there’s been talk of that, but I don’t see him going there.
“City is the only place in think he could come to the Premier League.”

Tottenham’s Bale blow
Gareth Bale’s agent Jonathan Barnett has poured cold water on a return to Tottenham.
The Welshman was tipped to go back to north London in the final days of the January window but no move transpired.
Asked if he could rejoin Spurs in the future, Barnett told AS of Bale: “No. He’s 30 years old, he’ll be 31 next year. I don’t know how long Gareth will play for.
“It’s what his lifestyle wants. He loves Madrid. His children have been there since they were babies, they speak Spanish, believe it or not [laughs].
“The whole lifestyle is fantastic. I was there two days ago in Madrid, it was 15 degrees, beautiful. Here [in England] it’s freezing cold.
“If you’re one of the greatest footballers to have ever played, why do you want to…”

Man Utd £100m transfer hope
West Ham boss David Moyes has conceded the club may have to sell Declan Rice in the near future if a club come in for a big offer, with Manchester United strongly linked with a summer move.
The £100million-rated midfielder has shouldered a lot of the responsibility for the Hammers despite being just 21 years of age.
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has long held an interest in signing Rice and he sent his own personal scout to watch him in action against Sheffield United last month.
And Moyes said: “In my mind he is arguably the best holding midfield player in the country and the best thing about Declan is he will get better.
“Declan is carrying a lot of the team at the moment and he’s the one who will carry on from Mark Noble when it comes to an end for him.
“Quite often when building a club you have to sell. I hope it’s not the case with Declan but I said the same with Wayne Rooney and Joleon Lescott [at Everton].
“But the team got better because we were able to sign the right players to replace them.
“If that ever came around [Rice leaving] I’d hope we’d be able to do the same here as well.”

Liverpool’s £80m stance
Liverpool are unlikely to move for Kai Havertz during the summer transfer window, according to The Athletic.
Bayer Leverkusen reportedly value the player at £80million, and the Reds are unwilling to pay that much for the youngster.
The Germany international has four goals and two assists from 17 matches in the Bundesliga this term.
And the 20-year-old attack-minded midfielder is seen as an ideal fit for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
But the Merseyside club are unlikely to make a swoop any time soon, particularly with Bayern Munich among the many other clubs tipped to pursue Havertz.

Two Chelsea targets
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is keen to sign a striker in the summer transfer window and there are already two targets on the agenda.
The Blues were looking to bring in some competition for Tammy Abraham in January, but failed to get anybody through the door to the disappointment of Frank Lampard.
Yet the Chelsea boss is keen to bring in some extra firepower this summer, when Abramovich is likely to spend big once again.
According to Italian outlet Calciomercato, there are two names on the club’s radar.
The first is Moussa Dembele, the Lyon striker who is also attracting interest from Manchester United having spent time on the books of Fulham and Celtic previously.
Second on their wish-list is Lautaro Martinez of Inter Milan, although Barcelona appear to be the frontrunners for his signature.
Martinez has a release clause of £94million.
