Tokyo will not be Ayala’s first Olympic games as he also represented Paraguay at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio.
He competed in the men’s marathon where he would finish in 136th in a time of 2:39:40.
Ayala also holds several national records including both the 5,000 metres and 10,000 metres.
