It’s claimed the Red Devils supremo is willing to meet the buy-out clause in the 25-year-old’s bumper contract over in Spain.
That’s after United scouted him heavily, watching him in action as he helped Atletico knock Liverpool out of the Champions League earlier this month.
Saul has gone from strength to strength over the years, helping Atletico become one of the best teams on the planet.
He made his international debut in 2016 and has gone on to win 19 caps, scoring his first goal for his country in a 2-1 win over England at Wembley in 2018.
And United are now hopeful Saul will sign on the dotted line and become their marquee signing of the summer window.
Should they pay £135m for the Atletico star, he’d become their most-expensive signing of all time.
