UFC news – Conor McGregor teases return date

Former two-division UFC champion Conor McGregor has hinted he’ll return to the Octagon in the summer.

McGregor made his long-awaited return to the cage in Janauary, decimated Donald Cerrone in 40 in the main event of UFC 249.

And the Irishman has hinted his next outing will be in just under nine weeks’ time, tweeting: “See you in July.”

McGregor’s apparent return hint came after he vowed to butcher newly-crowned interim lightweight champion Justin Gaethje.

“It’s me and Justin next as Khabib is the biggest bottle fighter in the game,” McGregor tweeted on Monday. “Guarantee it.”

He added: “Justin, there is no danger in a man that hugs legs, we all know.

“Try and dance around what the real threat is here all you want. I am going to f*****g butcher you. Your teeth. I’m going to put them on a f****** necklace. Speak on my skills as a father? You are f*****g dead.”

UFC news – Dana White discusses Khabib vs Gaethje plans

UFC president Dana White has revealed the lightweight title unification fight between undisputed and interim champion Khabib Nurmagomedov and Gaethje could take place on Fight Island.

“I expect (Nurmagomedov vs. Gaethje) to happen this summer,” White told ESPN 1000.

“I don’t know if it will be the first one, but it will be on ‘Fight Island,’ unless miraculously the world comes back together faster than I think it’s gonna.”

UFC News – Tony Ferguson congratulates Justin Gaethje

Former interim UFC lightweight champion Ferguson has issued a statement congratulating Gaethje for his victory over him last weekend.

“‘BushidoCode’ brought sports back W/ class # WayOfTheWarrior Win or lose, always act like a champion,” Ferguson wrote on Instagram.

Just wasn’t my night #ufc249. Congrats @justin_gaethje on a good fight -CSO- @ufc.”
