Zara Tindall jewellery: Royal given £30k engagement ring from Mike – ‘incredibly romantic’

[ad_1]

Zara Tindall, 39, got engaged to rugby-player boyfriend Mike Tindall, 42, in 2010. The pair were together for seven years before Mike popped the question at their Gloucestershire home. What is the royals ring like?

Zara and Mike first met in 2003 at an event during the Rugby World Cup and have been together ever since.

The couple tied the knot in 2011 at Canongate Kirk in Edinburgh and the ceremony was attended by senior members of the Royal Family including the Queen.

On the day, Zara wore a beautiful Greek tiara which belongs to Princess Anne.

It featured a brilliant cut diamond surrounded by a glittering wreath and it originated in Greece’s Royal Family, with Prince Philip’s mother Alice gifting the piece to the current monarch who subsequently passed it down to Princess Royal.

Speaking previously to Express.co.uk, head of diamonds and jewellery at Beaverbrooks, Lorna Haddon, explained: “Zara’s engagement ring features a stunning split band covered in pave diamonds, with a large brilliant-cut diamond at its centre.

“The shape of the split shank frames the central diamond beautifully.”

According to the jewellery expert it also comes with a huge price tag.

Lorna added: “I’d estimate the ring’s value to be around the £30,000 mark.”

Kate Middleton’s engagement ring given to her by Prince William, previously belonged to Princess Diana.

Prince William popped the question to Kate in Kenya while on holiday at Lewa Safari Camp.

The engagement ring features an oval sapphire as the centrepieces and is surrounded by sparkly diamonds.

Kate can be seen wearing her large engagement ring on royal engagements and only tends to remove it during hospital visits.

She will also often pair it against her wedding band which is a thin gold ring.

Kate’s wedding band is made from Welsh gold.

It is thought to have a huge price tag of around £300,000.
