Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons news UK: Latest supermarket groceries delivery updates

The last year has seen a number of national lockdowns and many Britons have avoided visiting supermarkets as much as possible. These are the latest delivery rules at Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury’s and Morrisons.
New sign-ups were temporarily halted due to high demand, however shoppers are now able to sign up again.
Customers are also given assurance they will save money, or they will be given a coupon.
“If you spend more on a plan than you would’ve done on deliveries, we’ll email you an eCoupon with the difference within 21 days of your plan ending,” the website continued.
Asda
The supermarket giant recently increased the number of available slots to 900,000, meaning more Britons can find a time to suit them.

As well as its normal delivery service, it had rolled out its same day delivery partnership with Uber Eats to more stores.
Customers in 200 locations can now get own brand Asda items delivered in as little as 30 minutes.
A statement said: “The supermarket is also doubling the size of its partnership with Uber Eats, with 200 stores providing customers with a rapid 30-minute delivery service on 350 Asda-branded products.”
Sainsbury’s
Similar to Tesco, Sainsbury’s has also offered a delivery pass service.
However, due to high demand, it is currently unavailable to new sign ups.
Instead, customers are able to benefit from cheap delivery with a four hour delivery window.
“Spend £40 or more and we’ll drop off your online shopping when it suits you from £1,” the website states.
“Select a longer four hour delivery window for just £1.”
Morrisons
Morrisons offers customers food boxes which provide items to celebrate special occasions which are delivered straight to home.
These are available with various contents, such as essential items, picnic essentials or barbeque foods, among others.
The retailer also partnered with Deliveroo to provide groceries quickly during the pandemic.
A statement said: “Both Morrisons and Deliveroo want to play their full part in feeding the nation during this very difficult and uncertain period.
“This is a new service that will allow customers to order from a range of essentials delivered to their door, on-demand, by a Deliveroo rider in as little as under 30 minutes.”
Supermarkets have constantly updated shopping rules during the pandemic.
They have made changes in line with Government guidance.
