Kate Middleton hair: How to recreate the curls Duchess wore for 10th wedding anniversary

The Duchess of Cambridge is loved by women worldwide for her impeccable style and signature flowing locks. A celebrity stylist has revealed how to recreate the curly hair Kate wore to celebrate her 10th wedding anniversary at home with just a few simple steps.

Syd Hayes, celebrity hairdresser and brand ambassador for BaByliss has shared his tips with Express.co.uk on how to get the soft, bouncy curls Kate wore for her anniversary photograph.

He said: “Kate’s hair is full, shiny and smooth, it’s been prepped well in order to hold the waves and make the colour pop.”

To recreate this look, the first step to apply a heat protectant product all over freshly washed hair.

“This will create a barrier between the hair and heat and prevent any frizziness.”

The next step is blow dry the hair to get it looking sleek and shiny.

“Make sure you have tension on your hair while blow drying because it will help to smoothen out any frizz and I would suggest using BaByliss Hydro-fusion dryer, and finish with quick blast of cold air.”

Then add fullness to the hair with a volumising product like Evo root canal spray.

Syd continued: “A key tip is to flip your head upside down when you apply the product so that the roots lift up and create volume. Plus using the BaByliss Hydro-Fusion air styler, makes it easy to blow dry the hair with both hands.”

To achieve Kate’s curls, use a curling wand on the hair and create loose waves.

The hairdresser added: “Wrap the hair around the wand and curl the sections that frame the face outwardly, then alternate the direction on the sides and back.”

Another tip is to curl all the way down to the end of the hair strand to add even more volume.

Lastly, apply a finishing creme over the hair to smooth down flyaways and lock the curls in place.
