Transfers: Chelsea target Griezman, Grealish ‘warned off’ City
The transfer window is really hotting up with many top stars potentially on the move. Manchester City have identified the player they’re willing to sacrifice to sign Jack Grealish, while they have also reportedly made a £160m offer for Harry Kane. Manchester United and Arsenal are battling for Ruben Neves. Chelsea are also looking to bring in a world-class forward. Express Sport will bring you all the latest news throughout the day.
Harry Wilson headed to Fulham
8.30pm: Harry Wilson sat out of Liverpool’s pre-season friendly win over Mainz tonight because he’s on the verge of a move to Fulham.
The Reds hope to raise as much as £12million by selling the Welsh winger though it is thought a deal will be closer to £10m.
Marco Silva is thought to be a huge fan of Wilson, 24, who was also looked at by Benfica and Brentford this summer.
Liverpool deal close
7.25pm: Liverpool reportedly ‘have the bulk of an agreement in place’ to sign Newcastle’s 16-year-old wonderkid Bobby Clark.
The Liverpool Echo say that Clark has been tracked closely by the Merseyside outfit and a deal is close.
Manchester United, Tottenham, Chelsea and Bayern Munich were said to be amongst the other clubs in contention to sign the player.
But the Echo say Clark is to join Liverpool soon and will play for the under-18s and under-23s to start with.
Paul Pogba new contract unlikely
6.45pm: Paul Pogba is ‘increasingly unlikely’ to sign a new contract at Manchester United according to Sky Sports.
Paris Saint-Germain are eager to sign the Frenchman who is out of contract at Old Trafford in 12 months’ time.
Pogba has rejected the offer of a new deal in Manchester and Sky Sports say he is expected to move on either this summer or next summer.
Sancho will wear the number 25 shirt at Man Utd.
Tottenham put eight up for sale
6pm: Tottenham are willing to sell at least eight of their first-team players this summer as part of Fabio Paratici’s squad overhaul.
According to The Times, Spurs are ready to part ways with Joe Hart, Serge Aurier, Toby Alderweireld, Davinson Sanchez, Eric Dier, Harry Winks, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Jack Clarke.
They are already set to send Erik Lamela to Sevilla as part of a cash-plus-player swap deal to sign Bryan Gil.
Konate starts for Liverpool
5pm: New Liverpool signing Ibrahima Konate starts his second successive pre-season game this evening, as Jurgen Klopp’s men face 1. FSV Mainz 05.
Konate joined Liverpool on a £35million deal from RB Leipzig and is gearing up for his debut season in England.
The 22-year-old is yet to feature alongside Virgil van Dijk, with the Netherlands international still on the road to recovery after his long-term injury last season.
Klopp will hope the duo can play together as soon as possible, with Joel Matip partnering Konate tonight.

Kounde open to Spurs switch
4.45pm: Sevilla centre-back Jules Kounde is reportedly open to a move to Tottenham Hotspur this summer… on one condition.
According to football.london’s Tottenham correspondent Alastair Gold, Kounde is interested in joining Spurs as long as Real Madrid – his priority – don’t make an approach.
Gold said: “I’m told that he would be interested in a move to Spurs as long as Real Madrid don’t enter the picture.
“Sevilla have an interest in Davinson Sanchez which could help any potential move.”
Leeds in new goalkeeper talks
4.15pm: Leeds United are reportedly in talks to sign Valerenga goalkeeper Kristoffer Klaesson.
According to Sky Sports, negotiations for the 20-year-old’s services are advanced and a deal could be completed as early as the start of next week.
The Norway under-21 international is seemingly willing to move to Elland Road to provide cover for Illan Meslier.
Current back-up stopper Kiko Casilla joined La Liga side Elche on a season-long loan until the end of the 2021/22 campaign earlier this month.
Sancho handed surprise number
3.45pm: Jadon Sancho will wear number 25 on his shirt in his debut season at Manchester United, the club has confirmed.
Many expected him to inherit Edinson Cavani’s number seven shirt and become the next in a long line of icons who have worn it in the past.
However, he’ll have to wait another year to claim it as he joins the likes of Odion Ighalo, Antonio Valencia and Quinton Fortune in wearing 25 at Old Trafford.

Liverpool seek midfield boost
3.15pm: Liverpool are reportedly eyeing a move for AC Milan midfielder Frank Kessie.
According to the Mail, Liverpool are considering a move for the 24-year-old, whose contract expires next summer.
Kessie is said to be involved in a contract stand-off with Milan which could see him ultimately leave for free.
With Liverpool being conservative about their funds this summer, it might be a genuine possibility for Kessie to arrive for nothing in less than 12 months.
He could potentially replace club captain Jordan Henderson, who is having contract talk issues of his own.
Xhaka set for Arsenal exit
2.15pm: Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka, 28, is reportedly close to completing a move to AS Roma this summer.
The Switzerland captain has been tipped to leave the Emirates Stadium this summer, with Jose Mourinho a keen admirer.
According to the Mail, Roma want Xhake to join in time for their pre-season tour of Portugal next week.
He would be the second midfield departure this summer after Matteo Guendouzi.

1.30pm: Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has also spoken after Sancho sealed his £73m move to Old Trafford.

“He will form an integral part of my squad for years to come and we look forward to seeing him blossom.

Man Utd confirm Sancho
1.15pm: Manchester United have confirmed the signing of Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho.
The 21-year-old joins on a £73million deal, becoming the second most expensive English player in history.
Sancho has said: “The chance to join Manchester United is a dream come true and I just cannot wait to perform in the Premier League.
“This is a young and exciting squad and I know, together, we can develop into something special to bring the success that the fans deserve.
“I am looking forward to working with the manager and his coaching team to further develop my game.”
Chelsea eye Romero swoop
12.30am: Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing Argentine free agent Sergio Romero this summer.
According to The Telegraph, Thomas Tuchel is eyeing Romero as a potential third-choice goalkeeping option behind Edouard Mendy and Kepa Arrizabalaga.
The 34-year-old is currently available after his Manchester United contract expired earlier this year.
He has been linked with Everton to provide competition for Jordan Pickford, but a move to Stamford Bridge will be a more enticing proposition.
Tottenham advance Romero talks
11.15am: Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly closing in on a deal to sign Atalanta centre-back Cristian Romero this summer.
According to Sky Sports, Spurs have made a bid worth around £45million for the 2020/21 Serie A Defender of the Year.
The 26-year-old is close to agreeing personal terms ahead of a move to north London and would sign a five-year contract with the option of a further year.
Son has signed a new contract at Spurs.
Spurs confirm Son stay
10.20am: Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed Son Heung-min has signed a new four-year contract at the club, running until 2025.
The 29-year-old has said: “It was already a big honour to play here for six years, the Club have showed me massive, massive respect and obviously I’m very happy to be here.
“It’s like home, especially with the fans, the players, the staff. There was no decision. It was easy.
“I’m so happy to be here and will be so glad to see the fans again soon.”
Man Utd’s Varane struggles
10am: Manchester United are reportedly struggling to reach an agreement with Real Madrid over the transfer of Raphael Varane.
According to the Mirror, the La Liga giants are demanding £50million but United are only willing to pay £40m.
Varane has entered the last year of his contract in the Spanish capital and desires a new challenge as he hits his prime.
Real are open to selling him to avoid a free transfer next year, but their valuation is yet to be met by the Red Devils.
Chelsea in Kimpembe hunt
9.15am: PSG defender Presnel Kimpembe is reportedly considering his future in the French capital.
Mauricio Pochettino has been heavily backed this month with Real Madrid skipper Sergio Ramos arriving on a free transfer.
That has left Kimpembe questioning his place in the PSG squad, according to L’Equipe.
Chelsea are keeping close tabs on the 25-year-old as they look for a long-term replacement for Thiago Silva.

8.30am: Manchester City are reportedly preparing to let Bernardo Silva leave the club to facilitate a move for Jack Grealish.
The Blues have also made an offer of £160m for Harry Kane.
There is not expected to be a mass clear-out at the Etihad Stadium but Silva will be moved to pay part of Grealish’s transfer fee, according to the Sun.
Villa are expected to demand around £100m for their club captain.
And their transfer kitty will be boosted by around £11m when their former academy player Jadon Sancho joins Manchester United.

8am: Manchester United and Arsenal are the two leading candidates to sign Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves this summer, according to talkSPORT.
The Midlanders have slapped a £35million asking price on the 24-year-old – which is £19m more than they paid Porto in 2017.
United feel Neves could be the ideal replacement for Paul Pogba, should Paris Saint-Germain follow up on their interest.
Arsenal are looking for somebody to fill Granit Xhaka’s boots as he is set to join Roma.
Harry Kane bid
7.30am: Manchester City have made a blockbuster £160million offer for Harry Kane, according to the Sun.
Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy was defiant in his stance that he did not want to sell his prized asset.
However, the Spurs chief has apparently done a U-turn and informed the England international of his decision over a phone call last week.
Kane is rumoured to become the highest-paid player in the Premier League on £400,000 a week.
