Man Utd transfer news: Ole Gunnar Solskjaer addresses concerns over Jadon Sancho hold-up | Football | Sport

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer claims he is not concerned by the club’s lack of transfer business so far this summer. United have made just one signing in this window ahead of Monday’s deadline, with midfielder Donny van de Beek arriving from Ajax for £40million. Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho has remained the club’s target throughout the summer and the Red Devils are still keen to complete a deal.

United reportedly saw an offer of around £91m turned down by Dortmund earlier this week.

The Bundesliga club are holding out for £108m to sell the England international.

United are also interested in signing Porto left-back Alex Telles.

But following Wednesday’s Carabao Cup win at Brighton, Solskjaer insisted there was no news on potential incomings.

Juan Mata scored the second goal in a 3-0 win for United at the Amex.

And the Spaniard was full of praise for Van de Beek, who laid on the assist for his goal.

“He’s a very clever player,” Mata said.

“I love playing with him because he finds pockets, spaces.

“He understands football in a way that I like – which is playing one-twos, passing and moving.

“And the goal was like that. He is always in the right positions, flicked the ball to me and I could finish with my right.”

Mata was also pleased with his team’s performance after two wins in five days on the south coast.

He added: “Another good night, I think we played good today. We knew they would play from the back.

“They try to play attractive football. They changed the system in the game, so you have to be alert. But we created chances and had more to kill the game.”
