Premier League clubs have until 11pm tonight to finalise their squads for the first half of the season and there is still plenty of business still to be done. Chelsea are trying to bring in a new centre-back and are in talks with Sevilla for Jules Kounde.

The Blues have also been negotiating with Atletico Madrid for midfielder Saul Niguez after he was offered to a host of clubs.

Manchester United are looking for a new right-back with Diogo Dalot looking to be heading to Borussia Dortmund. The Red Devils want to bring Kieran Trippier back to the UK from Atletico.

Arsenal have made a disastrous start to the campaign as they are cemented to the foot of the table having not scored a single goal in their opening three matches.

Mikel Arteta’s side are crying out for a creative midfielder – but will Edu sanction a move before the window shuts?

Stay tuned for all the latest transfer news throughout deadline day.

Sevilla are standing firm on their increased asking price for Jules Kounde, frustrating Chelsea as the summer deadline closes in.

According to The Athletic, Chelsea had a ‘verbal agreement’ with Sevilla for the highly-rated 22-year-old defender.

But the La Liga outfit suddenly increased their demand by £12.8million (€15m), ‘halting’ Thomas Tuchel’s hopes of a deal.

Chelsea’s interest in Kounde will likely go down to the wire today, but Tuchel is said to be happy with his current options.
